Description
These are percussion primed, armor piercing, high explosive incendiary (APHEI) cartridges. The projectiles contain setback and centrifugally armed, impact inertia fired, base detonating self destroying (BDSD) fuzes incorporating setback initiated, pyrotechnic delay, self destroying features. Do not strike or jar the projectile. The fuzes have an in-line explosive train and no out-of-line safety features. The cartridges are used in aircraft cannon.
The cartridges are unpainted. The projectiles have a black oxide coating. The fuzes are unpainted and have their nomenclature and manufacturing information stamped around their exposed portion. Manufacturing information is stamped in the base of the cartridge case.
