Description

This is a man portable, individual (one person) fired, infrared homing, surface to air guided missile. It has a blast warhead and a penetration impulse generator (P.I.G.) fuze. The fuzing also includes an impact switch and a self destruct feature. The missile is used by ground combat troops to destroy low flying aircraft.

The missile is painted olive drab with white stenciling. The warhead section has four 25-millimeter (1.00-inch) yellow squares around its circumference, and may have the fuze number and manufacturer designation markings. The rocket motor section has four 25-millimeter (1.00-inch) brown squares around its circumference. The launcher is painted dark olive drab; it has four yellow squares on the nose, and four brown squares on the rear of the launcher tube. Yellow markings are stenciled on the sight.
