Description
This cartridge is used against personnel and materiel, providing both fragmentation and blast effect.
The complete round consists of a projectile body a fuze, and a tail assembly. The forged steel body has a pre-engraved rotating band and a neoprene rubber obturating ring near the base, and is designed to accommodate an impact, delay, or proximity fuze. Below the nose is a deep fuze cavity containing a TNT supplementary charge which is removed when using a long-intrusion proximity fuse. The tail assembly consists of a cartridge container and ignition cartridge, a propelling charge, and a striker nut assembly.
