Use
TNT has been the most widely used military explosive from World War I to the present time.
TNT is universally used as a bursting charge in shells, mines, bombs and grenades. It is used to a limited extent in industrial and military blasting and demolition explosives. TNT is used in a large number of composite explosives, either to render them castable mixtures or to extend the supply of more expensive explosives.
