Little John provided toxic chemical offensive capability.
Little John was a surface-to-surface warhead used to carry 52 each 4.5-inch M139 (E130R2) spherical bombs. The warhead for the Little John missile was based on a modification of the quadrant design and was helicopter transportable on its launching gear. It was sealed at three stations with gaskets to protect against any leakage that might occur. Two thrust cones aided the ejection of the bombs. The bombs in the lower part of the warhead were deflected outward by the upper thrust cone.
