Description
There are only two sand loaded, target practice, projectiles used in 14 inch guns; the 1,500 pound, Mk IX, Mod 2 and the 1,200 pound, Mk XI, Mod 2A1. The 1,200 pound target practice projectiles are. provided by loading empty High Explosive Projectiles, Mk. XI, Mod 2A1, to the required weight with sand at the point of use. The fuze cavity is closed with a steel plug or dummy fuze.
