Description

These are caseless complete round cartridges containing a fin-stabilized projectile. The BK-883 is a high explosive antitank with tracer (HEAT-T) projectile, which is contact fired by a point initiating base detonating (PIBD) fuze. The BK-883 cartridge weighs 12.5 kilograms (27.6 pounds) before firing; the fired projectile weighs 7.5 kilograms (16.5 pounds).

The BK-883 HEAT-T projectile body is painted olive drab with black stenciled markings. The bourrelet is unpainted and coated with a clear lacquer. Stenciled markings on the projectile are white; those on the propellant bags are black.
