These are nonmetallic, high explosive, blast, antitank (AT) landmines. Four fuzes are compatible with these mines, the VS-N, the VS-N-AR-AN, the VS-N-EL2, and the VS-N-TLC. The practice and training versions produce a smoke or noise effect when actuated. No further information on the practice and training mines is available at this time. All of the fuzes incorporate a pneumatic anti shock design which reduces the effects of explosive minefield countermeasure techniques such as fuel air explosives (FAE) and explosive line charges.
The VS-N-EL2 and the VS-N-TLC electronic fuzes have an arming lever protruding from underneath and to the side of the fuze when the fuze is unarmed. It is not known if the VS-N/AR-AN electronic fuze has this arming lever.
The mines and the VS-N, VS-N-EL2, and VS-N-TLC fuzes are olive drab or khaki (sand) colored plastic, but could be found in other colors depending upon the users requirements. The VS-N may or may not have markings embossed on the outer pressure plate. Painting and markings for the VS-N/AR-AN fuze are unknown.
