The figure shows the appearance and dimensions of the M15 landmine and the M624 tactical mine fuze. The M15 is a high explosive (HE), heavy antitank (AT) landmine. The mines have manually armed pressure actuated primary internal fuzes.
The M15 may employ a tilt-rod fuze with the use of a fuze adapter. They also contain two secondary fuze wells; one in the side of the mine and one in the bottom.
These mines are painted olive drab (OD) with identifying markings stenciled in yellow on the bottom of the mine. The tactical fuzes are OD with yellow markings. The practice fuzes are blue with white markings. Unpainted practice fuzes with blue markings have been issued in the past. The tilt rod fuze has yellow identifying markings on the bottom of the fuze. These markings cannot be seen when the fuze is screwed into the mine. The adapter is anodized black with yellow marking. The reversible M3 arming plug has the stenciled words ARMED and THIS SIDE UP. The M4 and M4B1 arming plugs have the words ARMED, DANGER, and SAFE in raised letters and a red arrow on the indicator knob to indicate the condition.
