The AN-USD-5 was used for the dissemination of biological and chemical weapons.
The AN-USD-5 was a remote controlled, recoverable, long distance drone. It was capable of human incapacitation; the degree was dependent upon the agent used. For broad battlefield coverage and weapon effectiveness, timing for enemy incapacitation could be selected, and roads and facilities would not be destroyed in compromising the enemy.
The drone could change heading, altitude, speed, and commands to subsystem in a pre-programmed manner. There was a nozzle located in the tail section for dissemination of chemical fill.
