Description
The MJU-50/B Decoy IR Countermeasure (Covert Flare) are intended to be loaded in a MJU-11/A magazine. When dispensed from the host aircraft, the special pyrophoric alloy material payload reacts with the air to emit intense IR radiation not visible to the naked eye.
The decoy is similar in appearance and dimensions to M206 flare.
Markings consisting of nomenclature, part number, NSN/DODIC, manufacturers CAGE code, and lot number are stenciled in black ink on the decoy canister exterior.
