Description
The cartridge XM554 is a practice and spotting round for the high explosive cartridge XM552. It has the same ballistic characteristics as the high-explosive cartridge XM552. It employs the same primer and brass cartridge case assembly as the high-explosive round. This cartridge does not contain a fuze.
Hazardous Components
Propellant - 608 grains IMR EX8261
Projectile spotting mixture is red phosphorous, magnesium and barium nitrate (10 grams)
